Why aren't all people Christian? What draws people away from Christ or Jesus? All Jesus wants from people is to love each other with a deep love. It's not about "rules" at all, but people think they have to follow rules and be something they don't want to be. WHY! Why do they think this? I might have an idea. When people think of Christians they think: no smoking, no drinking, no swearing, no FUN! This is just not true. It's the religious groups. They have put "rules" in the group/church. The life of Jesus wasn't about throwing rules at us. He wanted us to love each other. (John 13:34-35) Here is what Jesus is all about: if we have the love of Christ, accept Him as ruler of our life and ask Him what His will is for us, then the love will change things in our lives. Here it is! We will change bad habits. We will not want to be the same old person. This is where people on the outside say " Man now that you found Jesus you have all these "rules" now." For this reason they do not like the idea of Jesus, becasuse he "makes us follow rules." NO! Our hearts are full of His love and grace. That we CHANGE to be like Him. There is a difference. We need to understand this. The world needs to understand that Jesus doesn't force "rules" on us at all. It's a heart change. Why can't the world understand this? Loving/accepting Jesus isn't a hard task, yes it is hard to live out day to day but so is getting up for work every morning, but we need to do it. All Jesus wants is His people to love one other. And isn't that what the world in general wants too? LOVE! Christ is love, joy, peace, kindness, giving, grace, and forgiving. People have labeled change as "rules" and that makes me sad. Because that is what holds people back from Jesus. Change being labeled as "rules." It is just not true.
